Rehearsal Space stooooof.
JR (my bassist) and I drove to Palo Alto yesterday to check out the rehearsal space. It was pretty much perfect. New, freshly-painted 12'x13' room, free wi-fi, on-site repair shop, and a vending machine that sells candy AND guitar strings. The guy who owns the place and does the repair shop has a couple broken Guitar Hero guitars he was fixing up to make into real guitars.

They also slashed the price from $550 a month to $375 a month, with a $99 deposit and 1/2 off first month's rent. SCORE.

All these fantasies started swirling around in my head. The possibilities! We could have Second Life concerts pretty much whenever we wanted with this room! We could throw after-parties! We could build a fort out of amps!

...But then reality kicked in. We need a PA system if I'm going to sing while they're playing. That's gonna cost us at the very least another $500. Even split 4 ways, it's all kinda spendy. Especially with 3 out of 4 of us being either unemployed or under-employed.

Jason (the guitarist) is fantastic - you know what he did? I texted him that we saw the rehearsal room and it was good and relatively cheap, and he texted back something like "ok i can write a check for you tonight you can pay me back later it's ok". Hahah! Man, if we go that route, suddenly we'll be indentured servants to Jason.
